User Manual – Educational Edition


1. Introduction

Thomas Wade Price Action (TWPA) is a structured trading assistant built around the Thomas Wade methodology. Its purpose is not to predict markets. Its purpose is to organize structure, clarify context, and help traders execute with greater discipline.

TWPA translates discretionary price action principles into:

  • Clear structural labeling
  • Objective setup validation
  • Transparent trade filtering
  • Visual risk context

It is designed to assist thinking — not replace it.


2. The Foundation: Structural Price Action

Thomas Wade methodology is built on structural progression:

  • Impulse leg
  • Pullback
  • Continuation
  • Failure

TWPA visually organizes these stages using structured markers, so you spend less time counting and more time reading context.

2.1 0–1–2 Structural Counters

  • 0 → A new pivot point forms
  • 1 → First pullback leg
  • 2 → Second leg completing pullback structure

Benefit: You always know where the market is within the structural cycle, reducing miscounting errors and hesitation.


3. Continuation Setups (2E Trades)

2E setups are continuation trades following a structured pullback:

  • 2EL → Long continuation
  • 2ES → Short continuation

Bright label: all structure and active filters approve the trade.

Dimmed label: structure exists, but one or more filters are blocking execution.

Educational insight: Dimmed signals are not errors — they are controlled rejections designed to protect quality.


4. Failure Setups (F2 Trades)

F2 setups represent structural failures that can create reversal opportunities within the same framework.

5. Higher Low / Lower High Context (HL / LH)

HL and LH markers reinforce structure and help you interpret trend progression.

6. Trade Filters – Improving Trade Quality

TWPA includes configurable filters designed to increase trade quality. Filters do not change structure — they refine probability.

Common filter categories include:

  • Countertrend control (EMA bias)
  • EMA distance (avoid chasing extended moves)
  • Bar quality (avoid weak signal bars)
  • Inside bar / compression avoidance
  • Oversized volatility spike avoidance

7. Understanding Bright vs Dimmed Signals

Bright signal: structure valid + filters approve → trade allowed.

Dimmed signal: structure valid + one or more filters block → trade denied (for quality control).

8. Conditions Box – Real-Time Summary

The Conditions Box provides a concise summary of the most relevant setup context when structural events occur.
